Tiffany Christian

Dr. Tiffany Christian has been teaching at Appalachian State since the fall of 2003. She was a full-time faculty member in the Social Work department for 10 years and spent 3 years as part of the core faculty of Watauga Residential College. She has been a part of freshmen learning experiences since coming to ASU and currently exclusively teaches First Year Seminar because, as she says, “I love freshmen and all of the excitement and curiosity they bring as they transition into this next phase of their lives.”  She also created, and still leads, the Uganda Service Learning short-term study abroad that provides students with the opportunity to work in a rural village in Uganda for 3 weeks during the summer.  In the community, she is actively involved in her church, PTO, Girl Scouts, and a board member of Beanstalk Community Theatre.  She is married with 4 children and spends a great deal of time supporting their love of music and dance. She is an avid “foodie” and loves to travel as well.  Tiffany can be described as many things: wife, mother, teacher, entrepreneur, community leader…just to name a few.  But, she prefers to be referred to by her adjectives, not her nouns.  Tiffany would best like to be known as giving, compassionate, caring and fun.
