Redmond, Theresa

Dr. Theresa Redmond is an Associate Professor in Appalachian State University’s College of Education where she teaches in Media Studies and Teacher Education programs. She studies how digital media and communication technologies impact literacy, learning, creativity, sustainability, and engagement in the world. Before joining the faculty at AppState, Theresa taught middle and high school Visual Arts, infusing Media Literacy as often as possible. She brings a creative, hands-on approach to her classes, incorporating a range of media and multimodal activities. Theresa’s teaching is guided by the belief that all learning requires community, creativity, care, and connection and she strives to design class experiences that address these core beliefs. When she’s not teaching, Theresa enjoys mixed media journaling, writing, and hiking.
