Tamara Parnell

Tamara Parnell earned her master's degree in History at Appalachian State.  History is her passion as is the archeology of the written word, her inspiration coming from seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark at age 10.  Her course on "The Counterculture" stems from both her love of history and her eight years of traveling with The Grateful Dead.  She spends most of her time reading current novels and learning of ancient civilizations. Though she spent many years out West, her heart resides in the Blue Ridge mountains and she has spent most of her life in Boone.
