Rebecca Keeter

Rebecca KeeterRebecca Keeter has enjoyed a long career as a dancer, choreographer and dance educator at Appalachian State University.  Before coming to Appalachian, she studied under master professor Mavis Rae at East Carolina University and at the North Carolina School of the Arts. Rebecca has extensive experience as a dance educator with K-12 students.   She spent many years as an Artist in Residence teaching dance and movement in the public schools throughout Western North Carolina.  For several years, she taught dance (K-12) in Caldwell County Schools and was named Dance Educator of the Year by the NC State Department of Instruction.  She participated in the development of the NC Standard Course of Study for Dance.  One of Rebecca’s passions is to observe, participate in, and document local dance traditions both at home and abroad.
