This course introduces contemporary regional issues through critical study of film and literature. Geopolitical, environmental, historical, and cultural issues are highlighted in terms of place perception and social awareness using film and literature as catalysts for research and discussion. By collecting regional information through class, place perspective through film and selected readings, and background information through research, students will analyze current global and regional issues.
