Garner Dewey

My name is Garner Dewey and I have been here at Appalachian since 2003 when I was hired as a faculty member in the Industrial Drafting and Design program (now Industrial Design). Prior to my arrival at App State, I was at the University of Georgia where I completed my PhD in Occupational Studies. The title of my main research project (dissertation) was: Effects of Work Experiences in the United States on Work Attitudes of Mexican Immigrants. One of my favorite and most enriching things that I have done here at App State is to lead numerous trips for students, faculty and staff abroad including multiple ones to my home country of Costa Rica. Since 2013 I have been serving as the QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) Director on Global Learning. I am married and have two sons who are at Hardin Park School here in Boone. My passions revolve around aspects related to my family, church, teaching, travel, 3D Modeling, photography and global learning.
