This course will teach the physics behind many cooking techniques including heat transfer, phase change, specific heat capacity and electromagnetism.  Students will be involved in experimenting with different food preparation methods and will compare energy consumption.  Both traditional cooking methods (range, microwave oven) and more sustainable methods (sun oven, solar dehydration) will be studied.  Energy and water consumption in various forms of food productions as well as cooking methods of various cultures will also be studied
