What is community and how can individuals affect change in community? In this class we will explore the idea of community - where you came from and where you are now at Appalachian. We will look at readings and art forms that reflect various social issues and cultural perspectives that affect community and create a performance piece with Boone community members (no performance experience is necessary!). This class would appeal to those with an interest in the arts, sociology, social justice education, and community development.
