Carol Cook

Carol Cook, MS is a Faculty Lecturer in the Department of HLES.  She received her Master’s degree from Appalachian State University in May 2007.  During the past seven years she has taught numerous classes and also serves as the Physical Activity Director for the Division of Community Outreach, a program housed in the BCBSNC Institute for Health and Human Services at Appalachian.  This provides numerous opportunities to develop projects that engage students and impact our community.  Ms. Cook was instrumental in forming the Active Living Residential Learning Community and serves on the Leadership Team.  She began teaching the Freshman Year Seminar class at ASU in 2013.  In addition, Carol spends a great deal of time working within the community.  She was the co-founder of Hunter’s Heroes, a non-profit to honor officers and military personnel for their service and provide financial support locally to families in times of need.  Whether she is running her next obstacle race or chasing after three children, her passion is to impact the health of her community and the Appalachian family.
