This course is designed to assist the student to move into the rigors of academic life by establishing life-long habits in time management, note-taking, financial management and community involvement. Examining the lives of women in Early America and using primary documents, secondary readings, film, lectures and discussions in a variety of settings, students will practice increasingly sophisticated writing and speaking skills as they seek to answer questions, analyze sources and develop critical skills required by university. In addition, students will be acquainted with resources at the school and cultural opportunities in the community to continue to hone their academic techniques.
