Alison Reaves

Alison Reaves serves as associate director for the career development area of the BB&T Student Leadership Center. Alison provides career coaching for students, delivers class presentations, teaches BUS 3541 and supervises the center's para-professional career counselors. In addition, Alison serves as the internship manager for the Walker College's academic internship program, provides career counseling for recent alumni and manages a social media presence for the center. Alison also runs the center's new Professional Leadership Certification Program, which offers students an opportunity to earn recognition for achieving mastery of specific leadership and professional skills; over 40 students have already been inducted. Alison received her undergraduate degrees in History and Political Science from Appalachian in 2010 and was first in her class in both programs. Following graduation, Alison worked for a non-profit in Washington, DC as a small donor fundraiser and grant-writer. She returned to Appalachian in 2011 to earn her Masters in Public Administration and join the Walker College career services staff.
